I was very excited when bought my Corvair and found this Corvair dedicated parts and service shop near my house. I have had a lot of work done here int he past. In fact the rebuild to the motor and other work was done at Larry’s by the previous owner. Sometime last year they cut back on doing service and have since found another mechanic to wrench for me (Greg Peterson). I have continued to pick up the occasional parts and accessory and enjoyed the camaraderie of Marco (one of the owners) and his crew of crazy Corvair aficionados.
I went in today to pick up a used set of quick steering arms. While talking about the parts I got the scoop on the place. Apparently the ownership os splitting up. The parts department will go back to Larry and he is moving that part of the operation to another location. Another partner is taking his portion and leaving as well. Marco is planning on continuing to handle service of Corvairs and is hoping to maintain the current location (or at least the back shop area) and provide service to the LA Corvair community. If things don’t work out with the landlord he may be relocating to another location to be determined.
